Precision Agriculture Workshops and other Extension Programs

University of Nebraska Extension

Description:

This series of precision agriculture workshops and other extension programs includes educational activities conducted periodically by faculty and staff of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A combination of lecture and hands-on exercises allows participants to learn about the newest developments in precision agriculture (site-specific crop management). During each program, various systems and methods are reviewed, and their value for Nebraska producers is evaluated. Statewide crop producers, their advisors (independent crop consultants), agribusiness and government agency representatives, different level educators, and the general public are the target audience for these programs. University of Nebraska Extension is responsible for marketing, facilitating and evaluating each program. Most programs provide training that can be counted toward the certified crop advisory (CCA) education requirement. Several programs can be considered to fulfill the continuing education requirement for professional engineers (PE). Also, selected workshops can be part of the University of Nebraska graduate degree program. See individual program materials for details.
